This website
This marketing site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. It loads nothing from third parties: the fonts, images and styles are served from sniphawk.com itself. The only data involved in a visit is the ordinary request log kept by our hosting provider, which records the IP address, the page requested and the time, for security and to keep the site online.
If you email us, we keep the email so the conversation can continue. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't pass your address to anyone else.
Who is responsible
SnipHawk is operated as an independent business in the United Kingdom and is the data controller for the information described here. Anything about privacy can be sent to [email protected].
What the product collects
- Your account. Email address, a hashed password (or a sign-in identity if you use one), and the date you signed up.
- What you upload. The source recordings you add, either as a file or by pasting a YouTube link, and the audio or video that comes back from it.
- What the product makes. Transcripts, the ranked suggestions, caption styles and the exported clips.
- What you use. Minutes of source processed, exports made, and the plan you're on, so that limits and charges are correct.
- Diagnostics. Job statuses and error records, kept so a failed processing job can be fixed rather than repeated.
- Billing. If you pay, the payment is handled by Stripe. SnipHawk never sees your card number; it receives a customer reference and the outcome of a charge.
Why it's held
To run the service you asked for: transcribe the recording, score the moments, generate clips, and give you the files. Also to take payment, to answer support, to keep the service secure, and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Where the law requires a defined basis: performance of a contract for the product itself, legitimate interests for security and diagnostics, and consent for anything optional.
Who processes it
These are the companies whose systems the data passes through, and what each is for:
- Supabase — database and authentication, holding your account and project records.
- Amazon Web Services — object storage for source recordings, rendered clips and assets.
- Stripe — payments, invoices and subscription billing.
- Resend — transactional email, such as a sign-in or a failed-job notice.
- Our own inference servers — transcription and moment scoring run on infrastructure we operate, not on a third-party AI service.
- A support chat provider — only when the in-app chat is opened, so that a conversation can take place.
Each is bound by its own data-processing terms. Some may process data outside the United Kingdom; where they do, the transfer relies on the safeguards in those terms, such as the UK's international data transfer addendum or an adequacy decision.
How long it's kept
- Working copies of a source recording are deleted automatically on a schedule after processing. The shortest window is 24 hours.
- Exported clips are kept for a window that depends on the plan, so you can retrieve them later.
- Account and billing records are kept while the account exists, and afterwards only as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- You can delete a project at any time from inside the app, which removes its recording, transcript and clips rather than waiting for the schedule.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what's held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, ask that some of it not be used, and ask for it in a portable format. Ask by email and you'll get a reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
What is never done
- Your recordings are not sold, licensed or published.
- They are not used to train models for anyone else.
- They are not shown to other customers.
- There is no advertising on any part of the product.
Children
SnipHawk is a tool for people publishing their own work. It isn't intended for anyone under 18, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and account holders are told by email. It won't be quietly rewritten.
