Terms

Terms of use.

Thirteen short sections in plain English, with the limits, the charges and the opt-outs stated where you would look for them.

1. What this covers

These terms apply to SnipHawk: this website, and the product you reach when an account is opened. Using either means accepting them. If you don't accept them, don't use the service.

SnipHawk is operated as an independent business in the United Kingdom. "We" and "us" mean that business; "you" means the person with the account.

2. Access

Access is opened in batches, by invitation or request. There's no automatic right to an account, and access can be declined or deferred. Once open, the service is provided on the plan you choose, within the limits of that plan: minutes of source video, projects, exports, upload size and retention are all stated on the plan screen in the app at the point you choose.

3. Your account

Give accurate details, keep your sign-in credentials to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has them. One person per account unless a plan says otherwise. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

4. Your content stays yours

You keep all rights in the recordings you upload, the transcripts generated from them, and the clips you export. We claim no ownership of any of it.

To run the service, you give us permission to store your recordings, process them, generate transcripts and clips, and delete them on the schedule described in the privacy policy. That permission exists only to provide the service, and ends when the content is deleted.

You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload — that it's yours, or that you have permission from whoever owns it, including anyone appearing in it.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use SnipHawk to upload or produce material that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, or that you don't have the rights to use. Don't attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, and don't use it to build a competing product. Don't upload other people's private recordings without their permission.

Accounts doing any of that can be suspended. If a suspension is about a payment dispute or a misunderstanding, it will be explained and can be appealed by replying to the email.

6. Plans, payment and cancellation

Paid plans are charged in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. Minutes and exports reset at the start of each billing period and don't roll over. Top-up packs are charged once and expire after the period stated when you buy them.

You can cancel at any time; the plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then stops. Charges already made for a period that has begun are not normally refunded, except where the law requires it — if you're a consumer in the UK, you have a 14-day right to cancel a purchase, which is unaffected by anything here.

If a charge is wrong, tell us within 30 days and it will be looked at.

7. Availability and changes

The service is provided as it is. It's run by a small independent operation, not a large platform, and there's no uptime guarantee. Processing times vary with the length of the recording and the load on the queue. Features may change, and anything removed will be noted rather than disappearing silently.

8. Liability

We're responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of breaking these terms, up to the total you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We're not responsible for loss of profit, loss of audience, or loss of opportunity, and we don't promise any particular result from posting a clip.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be limited. If you're a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

9. Ending it

You can close your account whenever you like; ask by email and it's done. We can end an account for a serious breach of these terms, or if the service is discontinued, with notice where that's possible. Content is deleted in line with the privacy policy either way.

10. Ownership of the service

The SnipHawk name, logo, website and software belong to us. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you. You're welcome to say you use SnipHawk, but not to imply a partnership or endorsement.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and account holders are told by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means accepting the new version.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts there. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protection of the law where you live.

13. Contact
